DIFFICULTIES SMOOTHED PRAISE FOR IMMIGRATION OFFICERS [Psb United Press Association.] . AUCKLAND, April 26. “ If all the people of this country are as courteous as your immigration officers, New Zealanders must be a very easy people to have dealings with, said Mr J. W. Gittins, District Commissioner of Fiji, a passenger by the Matua, who left his passport at home, his “ boy ” having omitted to pack it. Having wide experience of immigration officials in different parts of the world, hje was anticipating with dread endless difficulties on arrival. “ When the position was explained, however.” he added, “ everything was fixed up in no time. The immigration officers were the most helpful I have ever met.”
