GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
FURTHER UNIFICATION MILKING MACHINES INCLUDED [Peb United Pbess Associations WELLINGTON, April 23. Unification in Government contracts is said to be extended to the supply of milking machines for use on dairying properties under the control of the various departments. The Government Scores Control Board is calling tenders for,the supply of milking plants. The successful tenderer will contract to supply all machines for use on Government properties for the ensuing year. This represents a departure from the system followed hitherto, which has been to call, separate tenders for each unit or small number of units whenever new plant has been required. A single contractor will be called upon to supply upward of 100 milking machines of all sizes, so that the value of the contract may be expected to run into some thousands of pounds. It is considered that the letting of a_ single contract will mean a saving in expenditure. as well as greater convenience in ordering the plant.
