DEALING WITH ICE FORMATjOH BRITISH COMPANY’S EXPERIMENTS Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 22. Seeking to eliminate the danger of ice formation on wings, Imperial Airways have fitted up experimental equipment on D.H. 86 machines for tests. If successful, it will be fitted to all Imperail Airways machines. The system embodies forcing a solution of etherynglycol through rubber tubes along the edges of the wings and struts and then through verts to surfaces likely to be affected by ice. Imperial Airways are also experimenting with a new paste which can be applied to all surfaces, including propmlers, to prevent water freezing by chemical action.
