KILLED IN SLEEP

TWO BROTHERS FOUND DEAD TREE FALLS ON HUT [Per United Press Association.] WHANGAREI, April 23. . A pine tree fell on a hut at Rangiahua last night, killing Murdoch Ogle, aged 12, and Walter Ogle, aged 13, both sofis of Joseph Ogle. The hut is some three-quarters of a chain from the homestead, and the tragedy was not discovered until this morning. When Mr Ogle went to call the boys he found that a pine tree had blown over, smashing the hut to pieces, and when he cut away the remains of the building he found that the tree had fallen lengthwise across a double bed in which the boys were sleeping. Both were dead. It was necessary to cut away the trunk of the tree to remove the bodies. It is surmised that the tragedy occurred at 11 p.m., when the family heard what they thought was a sheet of iron blown about.
