Port Hobart was to leave New Plymouth to-day for Auckland, Wellington, and Napier, sailing finally on April 24 for London via Panama and Halifax. Port Brisbane leaves Auckland on April 23 for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, and is due here on May 3, to sail on May 6 for London via Cape Horn. Port Denison loads at Port Chalmers on April 20, and after completing sails the following day for Wellington and Wanganui, en route to Boston, Halifax, Southampton, and London. She will sail finally from Wellington on April 30. Opawa begins Homeward loading at Nelson, and is to complete at New Plymouth, Opua. Auckland, Waikokopu, Wellington, and Port Chalmers, and is due back here on May 5, to sail for London via Panama, east coast of U.S.A, ports, and Halifax (Nova Scotia). Port Hunter sailed from London oa March 25 for Suva, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth. She is due here about May 10, Tamaroa leaves Southampton on April 17 for Auckland and Port Chalmers. She is duo at this port about May 30. City of Oran was to leave New York to-day for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. Melbourne Star is to leave Liverpool on April 24 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. Stockwell is to leave New York on April 30 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND. Wanganella left Melbourne yesterday for Sydney and Wellington, where she is expected on April 14, to sail the following day for Sydney, where she is due on April 19. Awatea left Sydney on April 2 for Wellington, where she arrived on April 5. She left that port on April 6 for Sydney, where she was expected today.

Aorangi left Auckland on April 5 for Sydney, where she was due to-day. Karepo has completed loading at Newcastle, and left Sydney on April 5 for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is duo here about April 16. Waitaki left Wellington yesterday for Lyttelton and Dunedin, taking over the Marama’s run. She is due here to-morrow, and will sail the same day for Bluff and Melbourne. She will sail from Melbourne on April 21 for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, commencing a three-weekly schedule. Waikouaiti left Bluff on April 6 for Newcastle and Sydn'ey, to load for New Zealand ports. She is expected to load at Newcastle on April 13, and Sydney about April 15, for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton, and is due back here on April 21. TRANSPACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. —Northbound. — Niagara left Sydney on March 18 for Auckland, Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver. The Port Line steamer Port Denison left Sydney on April 3 for Auckland, and was expected at Auckland yesterday. She will load at Napier, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Wanganui, and Wellington. ' KUMARA’S ITINERARY. The Kumara left Lyttelton on April 6 for Nelson, where she is now to continue loading, thence completing at Picton (April 10-13) and Wellington (April 14-16). She will leave Wellington on April 16 for Santos, Rio de Janeiro, and London via Montevideo and Teneriffe. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The interisland express steamer Wahine arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this morning. Passengers and mails for the south connected with the express. FREIGHTS FROM INDIA. —Advance From May B. Shipping freights from Malaba, India, to New Zealand via Australia will be increased from May 8. From February 1 the calculation basis was changed from measurement to weight, under the new system the cost working out higher than previously for some classes of goods and lower on others. The increase now impending, which is on weight, varies according to New Zea- p land ports. For Auckland and Wellington freight rates will advance from 81 rupees to 83 rupees 8 annas an Indian ton of 6cwt. The percentage of increase is proportionately greater for many of the smaller ports, the maximum rate of 121 rupees being to Hokitika., I
