LOCAL BODY AMALGAMATION
m REASON FDR CHANGE MAHER RESTS WITH RATEPAYERS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 9. The Makara County discussed the amalgamation of local bodies to-day, and the view taken was that, if the ratepayers are satisfied, there is no reason to interfere. The matter was one for the ratepayers, and. should be decided by them. The council decided to support tho views expressed by the executive of the Counties’ Association.
