DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANCE Business during the week was well maintained. In the banking section there was a better inquiry, and most stocks moved to higher levels. Bank of New South Wales wore wanted this morning at £37, but there were no sellers. Bank of New Zealands have improved to reported sales at £2 4s, quotations this morning being 6d on cither side of that figure, National Banks have improved about Is during the course of the week, buyers asking £5 2s 6cl this morning. Insurance stocks have lyhown a tendency to recede, Nationals having been sold down to 17s 9d during the week. Standards were wanted this morning at £2 17s 6d,, but there were no sellers. New Zealand Refrigerating have been, steady, few buyers appearing for the lully paid issue, but a, number of sales of the contributing issue have been made at 18s 7d and 18s Bd. Goldsbrough, Molds have not changed during the week, the market remaining at about £1 17s 9d, while New Zealand Guarantee Corporation, following the announcement of the now issue of shares, has shown a considerable improvement. Sales were made during the week at 5s 6d and 5s 7d, but buyers have offered up to 6s 3d. Westport Coals were sold at. £1 3s 9d during the week, to-day’s quotation being £1 3s 9d, with no buyers. Sales of Mosgiel Woollens were reported during the week at £lO, buyers tin’s morning offering £9 19s 6d, with sellers at £lO 4s. Prices in the miscellaneous section have, been well maintained. Colonial Sugars improved to buyers at £43, with sellers 15s away. G. J. Coles recovered a little, of the drop which took place last week, a sale this morning being reported at £5 ss. Wilson’s (N.Z.) Cement cased during the week, presumably on the report that there was a possibility of the Government entering the field. New Zealand Breweries also eased a little, the market losing approximately 9d during the week, the figures this morning being £2 19s 'and £3. Following a considerable amount of business, Electrolytic Zincs (pref. and ord.), although having fallen a little during the last two days, both show an improvement over the week. Mount Lyells receded to sales at £2 12s 6d this morning, representing a drop of Is over the week. Mount Morgans have cased 4d, to-day’s quotations being 18s 5d and 18s Bd. Rawang Tins have shown a considerable improvement, two sales this morning being recorded at 13s lid, buyers quoting this figure, with sellers a penny away. Local gold mining has been very quiet, with few changes. Government Stocks have shown little life during the week, closing quotations being practically identical with last week.
