HURLED 100 FEET INTO AIR
Five natives and eight oxen were whirled 100 ft into the air and dashed to death by a terrific cyclone which swept through their kraal near Newcastle, Natal. ‘ The only survivor of the catastrophe is a twelve-year-old native girl who was thrown into a ploughed field, being seriously injured. The body of one of the victims was found 180yds from the site of the kraal, .the others being found, at distances varying from'3oyds to 40yds away. The mud huts, of the natives were ripped from the ground arid scattered 200yds away, while pieces of grassthatch roofs were found three miles away.
