Farmers in Central Otago and Southland are ready to sow wheat in large quantities, according to Mr L. J. Schmitt, general manager of the Department of Industries and Commerce, who passed through Christchurch last evening on his\way north after a visit to the south. He said that farmers seemed to be satisfied with the prices fixed, and were prepared to go ahead with sowing on a large scale.
