CALEDONIAN SOCIETY’S SPORTS
At the Caledonian Grounds next Saturday a programme of sporting events arranged by the Caledonian Society of Otago will be held. Harry Lauder has received an invitation to attend, and record entries for all events indicate a revival of interest in this meeting, as applications are still being made for entry in the various competitions. The directors have authorised the secretary to accept any additional entries sent in up to 8 p.m. on Monday. 'A display of challenge cups will be shown during the week by courtesy of the management of the D.I.C. Programmes will be on sale during the week, and the society is confidently looking forward to the public supporting its efforts. The secretary advises that the donor of the University bursary has approved of the provisions drawn up, and these will be announced at the next directors’ meeting. An added attraction of the meeting will be Jhe amateur wrestling events.
