UNDERGRADUATES PROTEST
DEMONSTRATION IN HOUSE OF COMMONS OBJECTION TO ATTITUDE TOWARD SPAIN Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, February 19. (Received February 20, at 11 a.m.) One hundred Cambridge undergraduates, including 10 women, hurried from the lecture rooms and laboratories to invade the lobbies of the House of Commons. Every college and all political opinions were represented. They declared“ We are disgusted at the attitude of the Government toward Spain. We have the right to protest because our lives and futures are at stake. Wo refuse to fight in this hideous, new type of war in which rebellion is secretly financed from outside and demand the withdrawal of all foreign troops, including Moors from Spain.” , Most of the members of the House of Commons seemed too busy to see the undergraduates. Finally Earl Winterton came out and said: “You can thank your lucky stars, my children, that you are British. All we have Jo do is to keep out.” Oxford and London undergraduates are preparing similar demonstrations.
