FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Unity Chambers, on Tuesday last, C.R‘. Bro.H. Hogg presiding. An invitation was received from Court St. Andrew for its sixty-second anniversary; also from Court Pride of Dunedin to a dance on March 1. It was decided to attend officially. One candidate was initiated into the order by the C-R-P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer, taking the second part, and P.D.C.R. Bro. W. Lbljotson, acting S.C.R., welcoming the new brother with the Forester toast. Two more propositions were received for next court night. A letter of condolence was sent to a brother in the death of his wife. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell reported on the visit to the diamond jubilee meeting and social of Court Excelsior. Bros. Warren and Cooper also spoke. P.C.R. Bro. E. Johnson and J. Patton reported on their visit to the jubilee banquet. P.C.R. Bro. Alan M'Naughton reported having visited P.C.R. Bro. W. Jolly, who was in remarkably good health. Some time was taken up in discussing absentee officers, several of whom of late had been very lax in attending the court. The C.R. gave the toast to the visitors, which was responded to by I’.C.R. and M.S. Bro. Patterson, of Ashburton, and P.C.R. Bro. W. Fleming, of Court Pride of Dunedin. The secretary drew the attention of members to the next court night, it being the first of a series of dances.
