Our Auckland telegraphs: Business maintained it* activity yesterday afternoon, and this morning orders were again fairly plentiful. Sales at the first call included three of the Government stocks, the 4 per cents, showing a slight easing, with business at £lO3 10s. There was keen demand for Australian industrials, and Mort’s Dock stock sold 6d higher at 14s. Rotoiti Timbers had the first sale since October, showing a drop of 9d, with a transaction at 5s 6d. Bank shares ivere in good demand, and the New Zealands looked a little better with a market The recent firming in insurances had a slight check, both New Zealands and South British being on offer at the latest sal© prices. Auckland Gas shares were again offered at 21s 6d, with no buyers. New Zealand Breweries failed to hold the full extent of their recent rise, and a sale was made 9d lower at 595.
