FORGED DANK NOTES
YOUNG PRINTER SENTENCED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 15. Clifford George Remmers, labourer and printer, aged 19, who was found guilty, with a very strong recommendation to mercy, of knowingly being in possession of forged Reserve Bank £5 notes, uttering four notes, and attempting to utter one, was sentenced to-day by the Chief Justice to two years’ detention in the Borstal Institute. Sir M. Myers said the prisoner was being shown the utmost leniency. • In England the offence was regarded as extremely serious. WANGANUI SESSION WANGANUI, February 15.. The Supreme Court opened thii morning, Mr Justice Smith presiding. Addressing the grand jury, .he said there were seven separate indictments* involving nine persons, for consideration. Three indictments concerned five prisoners undergoing sentence at prison camps. ■ - ■
