KIWI DEFENCE CLUB The Kiwi Defence Club fired the final shoot of No. 5 match on tho Pehchet Bay range on Saturday afternoon. The scoot consisted of seven shots, with two optional sighters, at 300, 500, and 600yds. The weather was very boisterous, with a varying light, which affected the scores, especially at tho 600yds range. The best score oft the rifle was compiled by T. DUNEDIN DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Club shot the third stage of competition counting for the club’s championship, Murray Trophy,' Benfell Cup, and Miller Cup Handicap on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 17, and seven shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 300, 500, and 600yds. Weather conditions were boisterous, with rain threatening, but only one shower fell; these conditions affected the attendance. The best score at 300yds was 34, made by R. A. Mackie; at 500yds C. Gamble was top with 34; at 600yds C. A. M’Nish and W. A. Graham were highest with 33 each, in the order given. J. L. Bonfel! headed the day’s aggregate with 96. Ho also holds the club’s badge with 290. Following are the highest scores;— / 300 500 600 .

OAMARU CLUB The Oamaru Defence Club commenced match No. 9 of the championship series over tho 300 and 500yds ranges on Saturday. The weather conditions were of the worst, a strong southerly blowing head-on down the range and heavy showers falling at intervals. After tho completion of tho 300yds tho conditions were so boisterous that the 500yds targets- could not bo put up, and the shooting was abandoned. The 500yds range ot this match will bo fired next Saturday, and following this, match No. 10 will be shot over the 500 and 600yds ranges.
