INDIAN CONTRALTO
BIHA ADDY NOW IN AUSTRALIA Bina Addy, the Indian mezzo-con-tralto of European renown, who rerecehtly arrived in Sydney after coma broadcast tour of New Zeaand, has been signed up by the Broadcasting Commission to make a recital tour of its national stations. She opened in Sydney on February 4 from 2FC. On this tour her programmes will consist exclusively of Bengali songs, which have not been sung previously in Australia. Although most of the Italian studios so far have entrusted the announcements in the programmes to women, the authorities have now decided to use men for this purpose.
