CUTHBERTSON—CONNOR. Moray Place Congregational Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on the evening of December 24, when May Bethia, third daughter of Major and Mrs W. Connor, Ravensbourne, was married to Robert, elder son of Mr Robert Cuthbertson, North-east Valley, Dunedin. Pastor J. Sands officiated at the ceremony, and Mrs H. C. Campbell was at the organ. The bridesmaids were Miss Vena M'Lean and Miss Elvra Connor ■ (cousin of the bride) ; Mr Les. Ogg acted as best man and Mr lan Cuthbertson (brother to the bridegroom) as groomsman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautifully-moulded gown of ivory satin riche finished at the neck with a softly pleated cowl and with an unusual lotus flower design appliqued_ on a long, graceful train. blistered organdie over satin, with picture hats of the same material. Their bouquets were peach roses and sweet peas daintily relieved with maidenhair fern. The reception was held' in the Strand Salon, where the, guests were received by the bride’s, mother,, who wore a black crepe Sudan ensemble, a long fitch stole, smart black hat, etc., and Mrs J. M'Neill (sister of the bridegroom), who wore a brown floral ensemble. The happy couple left for the north by the second express next morning, the bride wearing a navy costume with accessories' to match.

HUMPHREY—KIRBY. On Thursday,■ February 4, at St. Paul’s Cathedral, the wedding was solemnised of Joyce, youngest daughter of Mrs A. Kirby. Dunedin, and Harold Charles Humphrey, son of Mr and Mrs Mathias, of winton. The bride, who was escorted by-her uncle, Mr E. C. Prattley, was attired in a gown of white, net-edged lacc. Her veil of very-fine tulle, scolloped at the edge, was worn over the face on entering the church, and thrown back later to form a pleated halo, fastened to a coronet of orange blossom buds. She carried a bouquet of roses and maidenhair fern. Her two bridesmaids—Miss Alice Sheddan (Balclutha) and Miss Joan Murray (Mosgiel) wore frocks alike of apple green crepe de chine, with full lace sleeves and small green hats with plaited green and silver brims. Their bouquets were of pink trailing roses. A reception was held later in the Strand Salon, where Mrs Kirby, wearing a frock of cinnamon georgette with a chenille velvet evening coat, and

carrying a . bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers, received the guests, assisted fey Mrs Mathias, who wore a frock of black georgette and lace, with coat to match, and. carried a bouquet of red roses. After the wadding breakfast a dance was held. Mr and Mrs Humphrey will make their home in Dunedin.
