DOMINION MILITARY CONTINGENT HOST OF APPLICANTS [Pee United Peess Association.! WELLINGTON, February 12. Applications from ex-servicemen for inclusion in the military contingent to represent New Zealand at the Coronation have been pouring in to the 87 branches of the New Zealand Returned) Soldiers’ Association, and next week the Dominion headquarters of the association, together with representatives of the Defence Department and Pensions Board, will arrange to conduct a ballot to select from the many hundreds of applicants 10 civilian returned soldiers. . ... , The men who, are accepted. will be required to enlist in the New Zealand Regular Forces • (temporary) from February 23 to June 8, and will be ranked as privates. There is to be no official Maori contingent for the Coronation, but provision has been made to give representation to the race in other contingents.
