ST. CLAIR SURFMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
The result of the St. Clair Life Saving Club’s surfmen’s championship, held last week-end, was as follows: S. Jarvis 1 P. Mathieson 2 There were about 20 starters, the race proving an exciting one. Jarvis, swimming very strongly, led round the buoy and won comfortably from Mathieson by about 25 yards. The spectators were also treated to a display of canoeing by the members of the club. This took the form of a race round the buoy, a team comprising Devlin, Jarvis, and Mathieson proving the winners.
