SECOND DAY AT WINGATUI MAMED BY BAD WEATHER The club’s bad luck in the way of weather for the Cup Meeting continued this afternoon, and after a rough night heavy showers continued throughout the morning and seriously affected the attendance at Wingatui this afternoon. Going to the hurdle near the five-furlong post Octane ran to the front, hut put in a very bad jump, and Royal Pal led Golden Lap over the second last fence. Golden Lap joined Royal Pal at the home turn, and after leadnig over the last fence drew away to beat him by five lengths. Royal SaXon was a similar distance away third, and Octane was fourth. After some considerable delay at the start Ro,tui was the only one left. Lumiere was the first to show out from Rebel Mate, Valloch, and Black Earl. At the end of a furlong Lumiere was half a length in front of Rebel Mate, with Valloch, Golden Pheasant, and Slayer, at the head of the others. There was no change racing round the far turn and across the top, Lumiere being a short length in front of Rebel Mate as they turned for home, with Vallock and Golden Pheasant next.
