VACANCIES exist as follow in the undermentioned branches of the New Zca* land Division of the Royal Navy: SUPPLY ASSISTANT. —1 vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits ie to 23 years. WRITER.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Ago limits 18 to 23 years. ASSISTANT COOK.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits 18 to 23 years. Knowledge of cooking and baking is desirable, but not essential. Details of duties, pay, medical and educational standards, etc., may be obtained on application in writing to COMMANDING OFFICER, H.M.S. Philomel, Auckland. List of applications will close on 12th APRIL, 1937. Vacancies also exist for the following:— ENGINE ROOM ARTIFICERS.—2 vacancies for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits for candidates applying during present year 19J to 24- years. Candidates must be competent at one of the following trades:—Fitter, Fitter and Turner, Coppersmith, Boilermaker or Enginesmith. They will be required to pass a technical examination and trade test prior to entry. Those who hold a 2nd Class Engineer’s Board of Trade Certificate will be accepted without technical examination. ELECTRICAL ARTIFICERS—2 vacancies for 12 years* continuous service. Age limits for candidates applying during present year 19J to 25 years. Candidates must he thoroughly efficient fitters, or fitters and turners, or instrument makers. They will be required to pass a technical examination and trade test prior to entry. ORDNANCE ARTIFICER.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits for candidates applying during the present year 19J to 25 years. Candidates must be thoroughly efficient fitters or fitters and turners. They will he required to pass a technical examination and trade test prior to entry. SHIPWRIGHT.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits 18 to 25 years. Candidates must he thoroughly efficient workmen with at least 5 years’ practical experience as Shipwright. _ Will be required to pass a trade test prior to entry. ■ BLACKSMITH.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits 19 to 25 years. Candidates must bo thoroughly efficient workmen with at least 5 years’ practical experience as Blacksmith. _ Will he required to pass a trade test prior to entry. PLUMBER—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits 19 to 25 years. Candidates must be thoroughly efficient workmen, with at least 5 years’ praptical experience as Plumber. Will be required to pass a trade test prior to entry. PAINTER.—I vacancy for 12 years’ continuous service. Age limits 19 to 25 years. Candidates must be thoroughly efficient workmen with at least 5 years’ practical experience as Painter. Will he required to pass a trade test prior to entry. Candidates for entry as Seaman Boys should he between the ages of 15 years 3 months and 16 years 3 months on 21st May, 1937. Candidates within' one month of these age limits may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Candidates for entry as Stokers should he between the ages of. 18 and 22 on 7th May, 1937.
