(Received February 13, at 11.30 a.m.) Professor Hight, of Canterbury University College, who is en route to the Universities’ Conference at Adelaide, said the financial difficulties of the universities were causing the authorities much anxiety. “ For some years,” ho said, “ our universities have been in need of money. Things are now improving a little, as the present Government is very sympathetic towards eductaion.’’
