IMPROVED CONDITIONS
STATE OF BEACHES All the local beaches should ho in good order for the week-end, conditions showing improvement on those of late. The St. Clair Beach is in a better state at present than has been the case for some time past, and the surf is ideal for bathing, the sea being smooth and the water warm, while there has been an absence of rip. The St. Kilda Beach is in good condition again, but bathers are still urged to exercise care, as there are one or two holes fairly close to the shore. After rough weather, the Tomahawk Beach remains in good order, the sea is moderate, and the water mild. An attraction at St. Clair to-morrow will bo the local surf life saving club’s championships. The resuscitation and surfmen’s championships will be held in the nmrning, and the beltmen’s championship m the afternoon.
