PUMMERT&N WINS , [PBit United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, January 7. By winning the sixth race in the Cornwell Cup series at Tatiranga this afternoon, the Piimmerton crew (K. and M. Watson) secured their third victory and thus won the trophy from Auckland. The fifth race was held this morning, and was won ( by Christchurch. Detailed results of the series are as followPiimmerton 3 wins, Christchurch 2, Auckland 1. There was a steady westerly breeze for the sixth race, which started at 2.30 p.m. Piimmerton took the lead early in the race, and held it until their spinnaker skied. Manukau then sailed to the front, followed by Christchurch, Tauranga, Wellington, Piim-
merton, Auckland, Whangarei, and Paremata. In the second round Christchurch gained the lead, with. Tauranga in second place. On the last leg the Christchurch boat capsized when about a quarter of a mile from the finish, and Piimmerton then secured the lead and won. The finishing times were: Plimmerton, 3h 42mdn SSsec; Tauranga, 8h 43min 55sec; Wellington, 3h 46min 10 sec; Whangarei, 8h 48min 45sec; Man* ukau, 3h 49min 13seo; Auckland, 3h 50min 20sec; Paremata, 3h olmin 22 sec. Lyttelton retired during the first round and Hamilton and Christchurch capsized.
