HOW TO PAINT LINOLEUM
Select the required colour in a dry paint. Venetian red or one of the shades in Brunswick green are good. Put 21b with lib orange shellac in a jar and add just enough methylated spirits to cover it. Cover the jar up tight and leave the mixture until dissolved. With an occasional stir this should take 24 hours. Stir well and strain through butter muslin, and the paint is ready. The lino must be clfian and dry, and any raw edges nailed down. The first coat of paint (stirring occasionally) should be laid on smoothly and pretty thick. It dries quickly, and should be ready for the second coat the following day. In spite of quick drying, it takes a few days to harden, and should not be walked on unless you are wearing soft slippers. The given quantities will do 12ft square, two coats.
