PETROL FIRE TRAGEDY

A message from Chicoutimi, Quebec, states that seven children and a convalescing mother, who vainly attempted to rescue them, were burned to death in the flames from a petrol explosion which swept their little, isolated farm home. A dog upset a petrol can in a wood shed, and one of the family went to investigate and lit a match. The father, tried ineffectively to extinguish the flames with a horso blanket. He and a daughter, aged 18, also the baby, escaped alive.
