At the annual meeting of the N.E.Y. branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union the following officers were elected :—President, Miss Gray; secretary, Miss M. Begg; treasurer, Mrs Sanders. Superintendents were appointed also for the various departments relating to the organisation. Mrs Hiett, Dominion president, briefly addressed a large gathering of members. The speaker urged those present to keep the fires of love and service for others burning in their hearts. As a peat fire which is not allowed to go out, but is freshened each morning their spirit should be renewed each day with the spirit of God by prayer. Misses Moss and Ritchie rendered solos.
