HOTEL LICENSING
MEETING OF COMMITTEE The quarterly meeting of the Dunedin Licensing Committee was held to-day, Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., presiding. Members present were; — Messrs J. S. Douglas, V. S.__ Jacobs, J. R. Dreaver, and F. W. Knight. Applications, for transfers _ were granted Thomas Clarke Muir (Oriental Hotel) from Herbert Claude Johnston; Thomas Francis Mackie_ (Branson’s Hotel) from James William Young; Michael O’Brien (Robert Burns Hotel) from Annie Margaret Hope. Mr G. W. Ferens appeared in support of the first application, and Mr A. G. Neill in. support of the others. Senior-sergeant Packer stated that all the repair work to the Empire Hotel had now been_ carried out as required. The application of the licensee, Allan Angus Campbell, for a renewal of his license was granted. Mr J. S. Sinclair appeared for the owner and Mr J. Lang for the licensee.
