SCOUT MOVEMENT
MEETING OF PARENTS' COMMITTEE The twenty-seventh annual meeting of the 4th North Dunedin Boy Scouts 7 Parents’ Committee was held in the Scout Hall. Leith street, on Tuesday. The chairman (Mr J. H. Mains) briefly outlined the activities of _ the committee during the year, especially in connection with the Scout Hall, which was opened last week by His Excellency the Governor-General. He paid special tribute to all who by their ing efforts had made it possible to build the hall. The committee was especially K'eful to Mr J. R. Fairbairn for- the and time he had given to the business connected with the hall. The report and balance sheet proved the vast amount of work done by all interested. The scoutmaster’s and cubmaster’s reports were indeed gratifying to tpa committee. Mr Mams congratulated S.M. Beauchamp on being awarded his wood badge. The election of office-bearers for the 1936-37 vear resulted as follows; Patron, Mr J. R. Fairbairn; chairman, Mr H. Muntz; deputy chairman, Mr J. H. Mains; secretary, Mrs Dodds; treasurer, Mrs Nicolson. _ Sub-coramitteea were sot up to ileal with matters arising during the year. _ The meeting closed with a social hour, in which a presentation was made to the secretary for her work in the past year.
