CLOUDY AHO UNSETTLED The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the South* era districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—* An anti-cyclone is passing eastwards off northern New Zealand, while a ■rather deep depression is approaching across the Tasman Sea. Forecast; Moderate to strong northerly winds, .ris. ing to gale, force in places,. backing to westerly and later south-westerly. Weather cloudy 1 , and unsettled, with rain. Seas moderate, hut rising. STRONG WINDS. A strong easterly wind prevailed# throughout the night and this morning, making conditions most unpleasant. The barometer-at noon stood ah - 29.45 deg and was falling. For; tha previous 24 hours the maximum temperature registered was 58deg and 1 minimum 54deg. The maximum temperature this morning was 68.5 deg and the minimum was 63deg. Fog on tha hills made the wind a little keen, bii| the sun shone throughout the day. .
