CITY WATER SUPPLY
COMPLETION OF DEEP GREEK SCHEME . \ .. " . ADDITIONAL TWD AND A-HALF MILLION GALLONS A DAY The official turning on of the water from the Deep Creek supply scheme would be made bn December 3, stated Or W. Begg (chairman_ of . the Water Committee) at the meeting of the City Council last night, and 2,600,000 gallons of water a day would augment the city supply. Cr Begg said that members of the council would be conveyed to Ross Creek Reservoir, where the official ceremony would be carried out. That would take about one hour, and the members of the party would then return to the Town Hall to celebrate the occasion, which would be a memorable one. The mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) congratulated Cr Begg on the successful completion of the Deep Creek scheme. The fact that an additional two and a-half million gallons of wafer a d*v would bo brought into the city would relieve the tension in the minds of many people. The additional water was being brought in at the psychological moment—in December.
