DUNEDIN GARDENING CLUB
ARBOR DAY On Saturday afternoon the Dunedin Gardening Club met at the Upper Botanical Gardens for the purpose of celebrating Arbor Day 1 by planting a number of native shrubs and trees near the cherry walk. In the absence of the superintendent, Mr Leigh, of the Gardens staff, met those present, and quite a number of shrubs and trees were planted. Mr Passmore, president of the cluh, gave a. short address on the importance and value of tree planting. after which those present were conducted through the propagation houses, which were full of plants in their young state. These were looking very healthy, and promised well for the spring planting. Votes of thanks were accorded the superintendent .and Mr Leigh for their kind offices in giving the club such opportunities.
