DRUNKEN DRIVER DANGER
GAOL PENALTY COKING [Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 11. Fining Claude Duval Victor Grant (46), a sales manager, £25 and cancelling his driving license for 12 months for intoxication while in charge of a. car, Mr Mosley, S.M., said that much as he disliked sending people to gaol, he wanted to give a public warning, and he trusted the newspapers would assist'him, that in future in cases such as the present one he would impose a term. These offences were too frequent and had to stop. The public were entitled to protection, ' and the _ court would be remiss if it did not give it. The police evidence was to the effect that Grant was sufficiently in a state of intoxication to be locked up in any case.
