ENGLISH LEAGUE TOUR
THE HUNTLY INCIDENT [Per United Press Association.! AUCKLAND, August 8. Sitting in committee, the council of the New Zealand Rugby League dealt with the referee’s report on tlie orderng off of Hodgson, a member of the English touring team, at Huntly on Thursday and it was decided to reirimand the player. It was also reolved to ask the referee, Mr A. Harock, for an explanation of his statement to a newspaper representative, I arising from the incident. j Mr E D. Stallworthy, the council’s representative on the southern trip, congratulated the English managers on the exemplary bearing of the British team which contained a very line type of young men who had been everything expected of internationals. High opin-1 ions had been formed everywhere they 1 had played, for their conduct as well as their play. He deplored that the referee, before reporting to the council. had broken the rule forbidding interviews with newspapers. Other members nf the council fully endorsed his remarks.
