PROJECTIONISTS’ DISPUTE
HIGHER WAGE AND HOUR REGULATION SOUGHT [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 8. The Dominion (except Canterbury) dispute between the New Zealand Federation of Motion Picture Projectionists’ Industrial Association of Workers and the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation Ltd. and other employers was commenced to-day before the Conciliation Commissioner, Air M. J. Reardon.
The applicants asked for considerable increases in salaries and the regulation of hours. The demands were opposed by the employers, who submitted coun-ter-proposals. The council adjourned until Monday, no agreement having been reached on wages or hours.
