MOVEMENTS. —Coastal.— Kara arrived early this morning, and is expected to sail at 10.30 this evening for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. Wingatui arrived yesterday and is to sail at 8 o’clock to-night for Oamaru. Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Gabriella, from Westport via Wellington, and Lyttelton, reached Dunedin yesterday. She was to sail this afternoon for Greymoiith and Brisbane. Breeze was expected this afternoon to load this evening for Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, and Wanganui. Storm is due from Wellington oh Wednesday to load and sail the same day for Wanganui via ports. Gale is due here on Saturday from Wellington, to load the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Holmglen is now scheduled to load here on Wednesday for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato via Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. Wairaarino is due on Thursday to sail the same day for Bluff. She will return on Sunday next to load and sail on Monday for Auckland via Timaru. Lyttelton, and Wellington. —Overseas.—' Waikouaiti was expected to sail this afternoon for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete discharge of her Sydney cargo.Northumberland, which arrived at Port Chalmers on Saturday morning, was expected to sail this afternoon for Wanganui and Auckland to complete. She is to sail finally about August 15 for London, • Avonmouth. Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow via Panama. Eskdalegate is expected at Lyttelton on August 16, am! at T’avciisbourne on August 19. She is to complete discharge at Dunedin. Narbada left Calcutta last Monday for Penang, Singapore, Samarang, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timarn. Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due at Auckland on September 4, and at Dunedin about September 14. Surrey, from Liverpool via ports, is due at Dunedin on Thursday. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The Vacuum Oil Company has received advice that the tanker G. S. Walden is due at Auckland from Sumatra on August 14. The vessel has a cargo of bulk petrol for Auckland, Welliugton, and Lyttelton, ASHBURTON COMING. The Ashburton left New York on July 31 and Newport News on August 4 for Auckland, where she is due ou September 6, Wellington,- Lyttelton, and Dunedin. THE DUNEDIN STAR. The Blue Star Line has. received cabled advice that its motor ship Dunedin Star cleared South Africa last Monday for Bluff, where she is due on August 21 to commence her Homeward loading. JAPANESE SHIPBUILDING. According to news received by the mail, Japan is experiencing a shipbuilding boom. Five cargo vessels were launched a few months ago within 10 days. These were the Osaka Maru, 1,470 tons gross; the motor ship Fungawa Maru, No. 2, 1.000 tons gross; the Holmyo Maru, 4,200 tons gross; the Saipan Mam, 5,400 tons gross; and another vessel of 6,300 tons gross. All the leading Japanese shipbuilding yards are fully occupied' with naval and Merchant contracts, some having actually to refuse orders. Owing to this some Kobe shipowners arc calling for a temporary raising of the ban on imports of ships from abroad. IN RADIO RANGE.
