BAD ROADS.

TO TSB EDITOR. Sir, —A few days ago I noticed ia your paper a reference to the disgraceful state of our roads. I have often wondered that you are not bombarded •with letters on that subject. For over eight years I have watched this bombardment of metal, hoping that jfe would lead in time to some semblance of a decent road. Hope is now dead and will never revive until the council wakes from its long sleep of unintelhgence. I believe its engineering department drugged the old council and the fumes still linger in the council chamber, but I did expect the men I Voted for to be strong enough or intelligent enough to realise that eight or nine years is sufficient Tor roads to emerge from rough, loose metal. —I am, etc., August 8. Bitter Stjiteiusr.
