He said the discussions to provide new tonnage for New Zealand and Australian service had made considerable progress. “ 1 expect the Imperial and dominion Governments’ final decision in a few days. The Imperial Shipping Committee is expediting its report. Conference confirmed my belief that this essential Imperial link should not be abandoned, and once a favourable decision is reached the plans for two 26,000 ton liners, with a speed of 22 knots, will be pressed forward.
