In llie tennis, finals at Wimbledon Britain nnprecedently won tour titles, equalling the American record of 1930, when 'J'iTden won the men’s singles, Mrs Helen Wills-Moody the women’s singles, Allison and Van Rvn the men’s,doubles, Mrs Wilis-Moody and Miss Ryan the women’s doubles. Miss Ryan also won the mixed doubles with Crawford. Perry (Britain) defeated von Cramm (Germany) in the final of the men’s singles after a disappointing match; Hughes and Tuckey (Britain) won the men’s doubles from their countrymen, Hare and Wilde; Mrs Sperling (Germany) went down to Miss Helen Jacobs (America) in the women’s singles; tho holders. Miss James and Miss Stammers (Britain) retained the women’s doubles title; and in the mixed doubles Perry and Miss Round (Britain) defeated the Americans, Budge and Mrs Fabyan. Miss Helen Jacobs defeated Mrs Sperling, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. FINAL. Miss James and Miss Stammers (holders) defeated Miss Jacobs and Mrs Fabyan, 6-2, 6-1. MIXED DOUBLES. SEMI-FINAL. Perry and Miss Round defeated Wilde and Miss Whitmarsh, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. FINAL. Perry and Miss Round (holders) defeated Budge and Mrs Fabyan, 7-9, 7-5, 6-4.
