CARETAKER’S DEATH
VERDICT DF HEART FAILURE The adjourned inquest into, the death of Henery Steel Pithio (69), a married man, who collapsed and died while carrying out his duties as caretaken in Jamieson’s building in Stuart street on Friday, was held in the Court House this afternoon. Henery Pithie. a son of the deceased, residing with him at 514 King street, said that his father’s health for the Sist three years had not been good, e had been advised to have medical attention, but had not seen a doctor On July 1 he complained of pains in his head and cold in the lower part of his body, subsequently going.to bed. Witness did not see the deceased on the day of his death, but called out to him as his father left for work at 6.30 a.m. . , Dr W. Evans, police surgeon, detailed an examination he had made ot the deceased. The body was well nourished, and there were no signs of injury. From the deceased’s medical history he formed the opinion that be had been suffering from attacks of coronary thrombosis for the past three years. Witness was of the opinion that the cause of death was,heart failure. the Coroner returning a verdict accordingly.
