HISTORIC ELECTRIC TRAM SERVICE CEASES RUNNING TO-DAY.— The tram service to Maori Hill, which enjoys the distinction of being the pioneer electric service in the Southern Hemisphere, is to be replaced by buses to-day. The top picture shows the original No. 2 tram at the Junction. This being in the pre-Waipori days, the service had its own power house which can been seen at the rear of the trams.
