ROSLYN BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Roslyn Bowling Club was held last night in the pavilion. The president (Mr D. A. O’Connell) presided, and, therp was a large attendance of members. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the Chairman said the report furnished an. accurate account of the work of the club for the past year. The green had received considerable attention, and the improvement made was the result of the work and attention given by experts and the greenkeeper. The green had never been in better playing condition. When it was found that it was going back suitable soil had been purchased and spread, with the result that no complaints were now heard from members. Seconding the motion, Mr E. Sunderland congratujated the officials on the manner in which they had looked after the affairs of the club during the year. The treasurer (Mr J. H. Matheson) .referred to the extra expenditure involved by the club, but said the year had ended with a credit balance. The Chairman said the financial position was sound. The club, in fact, was in a better position than had been shown for some time past, despite the extra expenditure in connection with the improvements made to the green. Mr J. M'Narey said £SO had been spent on the green during the year. Such an expenditure would show results, as it would be an asset and not a liability to the club in the future. The report and balance sheet, were adopted. ' • . It was decided that the club ties be the same as last year, and that ;the club pairs be played on the handicap system. It was also decided to play five sections in the Saturday competition, to con pete in the four-rink competition, and to enter for the Adess Shield competition.
