DARING BURGLARY
[Pek United Press Association.} WAIPUKURAU, June 16. Waipukurau was the scene of a daring burglary exploit about 2.30 this morning, when a man, thought by the night watchman (Mr E. G. Price) to be between 30 and 35 years of age. was found by him on the premises of H. B. Poppclwell and Co., in the main street, packing up men’s clothing into boxes. The burglar escaped and apparently reached a waiting car. Ho left an overcoat, chisel, and tyre lever behind in his hurried exit. The man or a confederate evidently stole 12 gallons of petrol from F. Wells’s garage after smashing a lock. He had also endeavoured to effect an entry to two other shops. '
