NEW FABRIC FANCIES
PATTERNED LIFE AND TRAVEL The latest fabric idea abroad is to have frocks with patterns which depict life and travel, entertainment and sentiment. instead of wallpaper-like fantasies and Futurist lines, blocks, and columns. A design showing the Queen Mary is very popular, and there has been much interest in this nautical fabric of the liner against a pale or a dark background. Other amusing and novel designs include one which shows tiny violins in different colours on a gay blue ground. Underneath are the lines: “She shall have music wherever she. goes.” Another is called “ The Flying Horse,” and shows galloping gee-gees on a honey-sand coloured crepe fabric. Little Chinese figures in green and white, with pointed hats and tunics (one can’t see their pigtails) strut about on a heron-pink crinkly crope.
