Charged with receiving at different times quantities of tin tq the total value of £612. the property of tha Government ' Railways Department. Douglas Charles Stevens (32), a metal traveller, appeared before Mr S.M., to-day.. . , Evidence is being given by Chanes Bold, formerly in charge of the nonferrous section of the stores at the Railway Workshops at Lower Hutt, and who is serving a sentence for the theft of tin in which he alleges various occasions on which the accused received deliveries of tin for disposal. Accused and himself, he alleges, were sharing the proceeds.
