COLD AND CHANGEABLE The following weather forecast wa* issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— A rather deep and extensive depression covers the central portion of the Dominion. An intense anti-cyclone covers Australia and the Western Tasman Sea. Forecast: Light variable winds at first, but later southerlies setting in and increasing to strong to gale force. cold and changeable, with occasional showers. Seal moderate but rising. FOGGY AND COLD. Following the dull, overcast weather of yesterday, the day broke cold and foggy in Dunedin this morning. Indications at noon were for a fine afternoon, the sun coming out strongly at 11 o’clock, and the fog blanket lifting partially. There was half a degree of frost last night, but no rain. The maximum temperature readings show a further decrease, 46.5 deg being registered to-day, with the minimum reading at 42deg. There was no wind, and the barometer at noon was falling at 29 .Sin.
