DOG JUDGING GAY

DUNEDIN FANCIERS' SHOW THIS MORNING'S AWARDS This morning a start was made with the judging of the dogs benched at the Dunedin Fanciers’ Club’s annual show. Due to the large number of entries in several sections, the task of the judge was prolonged, with the result that by early afternoon comparatively few awards had been made. Children’s pets and cats were also judged this morning. In connection with the roller canary section, the awards in which are pubdished elsewhere in this issue, the judge, Mrs F. A. King, said she would have liked to see more entries. However, those shown were a credit to the breeders. The winner of the championship gave a fine song performance, whilp the winner of the best songster bred in the South Island was also a very pleasing singer. This evening at 7.30 the following special classes will be judged:—Terrier stakes, sporting dog stakes, non-sport-ing stakes, grand puppy stakes, grand challenge stakes, novice owners’ stakes, gun dog stakes, junior puppy stakes, ladies’ class.
