RECALL OF SOUTHERN FORCES REFUSED BRITISH GUNBOATS ORDERED TO CANTON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NANKING, June 11. (Received June 12, at 1.30 a.m.) , The Canton Government rejected Ohiang Kai-shek’s appeal to recall the southern forces and to await the decisions of the Central Executive Council on July 10. The British naval authorities have ordered the gunboats Cicala and Tarantula to proceed to Canton to ensure the safety of British nationals. v
