WEDDING

BIBBY—DAVIDSON. On the evening of Tuesday, May 20, at North-east Valley Presbyterian Church, the marriage was solemnised of Margaret Valerie, only daughter of the late Mr J. Davidson and Mrs Davidson, of Serpentine Avenue, and the Rev. Lawrence Vincent Bibby, of Methven, only son of Mr and Mrs Bibby, of Brooklyn, Wellington, the ceremony was performed by the Rev. N. Oakley, assisted by the Rev. \\. A. Hamblett. The church had been beautifully decorated for the occasion with autumn-tinted chrysanthemums and leaves. , , , The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr John Noonan, of Christchurch, wore a graceful gown of parch-ment-tinted satin, cut with a high cowl neckline and long sleeves full to the elbow, and fitting closely to the wrists. The front of the skirt was draped into a large brilliant clasp at the waist, and the back formed - a pointed train. Her veil, softly draped round the shoulders, was held by a narrow silver-edged halo, and finished at each side by a tiny cluster of orange blossom. Her trail bouquet was of white chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids, Misses Olga Abbott and Margaret Collins (cousins of the bride), wore charming frocks of palest green deque, which were cut high at the waistline, with fitting skirts ending in short pointed trains; the semi-puffed sleeves were elbow length, and_ the round gauged necklines were finished with silver cords and tassels at each side, and plaited girdles coming from the sides of the waist were loosely knotted at the back. Each wore a tiny shepherdess hat of niched green satin, and carried flowers to tone. The bridegroom was attended by the Rev. L. Rothwell and Mr R. Davidson. During the signing of the register Miss K. Desmoulins sang ‘ Because You Come To Me.’ _ . At the reception held later in the Strand Salon the guests were received by Mrs Davidson (mother of the bride), who wore a navy and red satin frock with plain navy coat and hat, and Mrs Bibby (mother of the bridegroom), who wore a navy ensemble with hat to match. They were assisted by Miss Abbott (aunt of the bride), who wore a Kenya red satin frock and a hat to match. The bride travelled in a brown tailored suit, with hat and accessories in brown.
