Tli c educational course organised by the Association of Country Education for delegates from Otago and Southland of the Junior Homemakers’ Clubs was concluded last evening. In the afternoon the delegates were entertained at a picnic lunch at the residence of Mrs Cooper, Opoho, and were afterwards taken round the grounds. An address was also given by Miss Colder, president of the Otago Home Economics’ Association. The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to a drive in and around the city, and a private view of Titania’s Palace. In the evening the delegates were the guests at a party at Upper Studholme House, bringing the rally to a conclusion. Bernard Lewis Blackwell pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court at Timaru for trial on two charges of the illegal sale of liquor. The police gave evidence of finding 58 full and 29 empty beer bottles at his residence. —Ashburton Press Association.
